Some young people are not looking forward to spending four more years in school after they graduate from high school. There are people who are just not comfortable in the classroom. Most of us think that we have to go to a four year university to get a decent job but this is not always the case. There are plenty of opportunities to find jobs without college degrees.

You can pursue good paying careers that do not require any university study. You can get jobs without college degrees in these fields, but you may have to go through substantial training or studies. These careers may require an internship or an apprenticeship but it’s better than spending four years in the classroom.

Being a sheet metal worker is one of the best jobs without college degrees. Sheet metal workers are also known as tin knockers because they work exclusively with stainless steel and other metals. If you have a little bit of an artistic flair and good hand-eye coordination, then this is an ideal career for you.

However, you need to undergo extensive training to become a sheet metal worker. You have to pass an aptitude test and you have to complete many hours of training. You also have to be an apprentice for two years after you finished the training period.

Jobs without college degrees require a lot of dedication but the payoff is well worth it. You will benefit from Healthcare, pension plans and overall hourly pay through the Sheet Metal Workers’ Union.

Other jobs without college degrees require nothing more than personality. I used to work as a secretary for a company that provided software for hospitals. All of the employees held degrees except for one. Our salesman earned his GED at the age of 20.

He was one of the highest paid individuals on staff even though he never attended a single university class.
